CHANN Bangkok Noi | Living by the River

Add Favorites

Bangkok-Noi is an old community in Bangkok with a long historic story dating back to the Ayutthaya and Thonburi eras. The Bangkok-Noi area was set as one part of the city wall surrounding the capital Thonburi during the Thonburi era. The Bangkok-Noi canal was formerly the Chao Phraya river, however to improve the river route to better serve commercial logistics, King Chairajathiraj (B.C.2077-2089) rerouted the river in order to create a short-cut. Years passed by, the river became a canal through time due to the change of river flows and tide.
